Do you wear jeans?
My daughter thinks I should be wearing jeans everyday, but they just feel so restricting and they bring back memories of laying on the floor in my bedroom as a chubby pre-teen, zipping myself into jeans that were 2 sizes too small – the perfect fit to cut off circulation and accentuate my adolescent muffin-top.
I know I can get jeans that I love if I’m willing to take out a second mortgage on my house or deprive my children of food for a few days, but neither option has made much sense to me.
But, this weekend, I found the solution at the GAP. They have a variation on the jean, called THE CURVY.
Remember the ad with the middle aged man that touted the pants that offered a “skosh more room?” I never really knew what that meant, (I have since learned that it is a word! It means “a bit” or “a smidgen”) but we all got the message. Middle aged men needed a bit more room in their pants and it’s not in the area they might be hoping for.
Well, Ladies, sometimes we need it too and we don’t have to lay down $200 bucks to get it.
And here’s more good news: At the Gap, if you’re a size 8, you’re going to feel great as you slide into their generous size 6 jeans. And if you get the CURVY variation, you take that 6 down to a 4.
If only the ankle length (for us SHORT and CURVY girls) took me down to a size 2 – that’s a curve I am happy to catch!
