Now that we are in our 40’s and 50’s, we’re not fooling around anymore.
Why stop at one day when we could celebrate for the entire year?
It’s time to consider Mother’s Day the annual kick-off event to 365 days of one of the most exciting sport there is – motherhood.
After all, we jumped into this with little to no training. The game never stops. It’s 24/7 and we are always on the field.
The rules change daily, there’s usually no post-game rub down and we are not pulling in 7 figures. And yet, we wouldn’t think of changing the game or our team.
Call us crazy. But there’s really only one choice – to make every day a home run even when we feel like throwing in the towel.
Go Team!
How do we celebrate whether we are winning or losing the game? And how can we enjoy this sport all year long?
MARVEL at the way you bounce back from injuries sustained on the field.
It’s true – your daughter didn’t mean to hit you in the head with her American Girl Doll – but boy, those are well-made, aren’t they?
BASK in the adoration of your personal fan club – notice how they never leave your side – for years!
They follow you into the bathroom and even crawl into your bed at night. They make you “hug” coupons and burn chocolate chip pancakes for you on special occasions.
They may even cry when you leave them to go to basic training (a night out with the ladies.) Enjoy those tiny stalkers as they grow.
CELEBRATE when you and your little team make a home run, basket or field goal –
whether your daughter got into the school of her dreams or your son learned how to tie his shoe – party on!
REMEMBER who’s in your corner and “high-five” them daily.
Whether it’s your spouse, boss, friend, child or Fed Ex delivery guy. Let them know you appreciate all they do for you.
FIRE the Monday morning quarterback who lives in your head.
Hindsight is 20/20 and so was our vision 10 years ago. Nothing a pair of dime store readers won’t solve.
STRIVE for your personal best each and every day and remember to only compete with you.
ASK for help and the occasional rub down.
Enjoying the wins and the losses in L.A.,
Jamee
