If you have your own business or are responsible for moving someone else’s business forward, you may find yourself in this situation.

There are strategies that you would like to tackle and a well studied list of things you should do, but you get stopped because you don’t know all the steps from where you are to where you want to be.

Your “to-do” list may look a bit like mine.  I’ve got peppy little notes like; “build website!” or “set up twitter!” or “write great American novel!” And day after day, those items get pushed to the next day, week or month, because; I don’t like to start things when I really don’t know how to do them.  I may know the first step and the outcome, but all that in between is like a swamp of muddy confusion.

The problem is that we don’t allow ourselves time to learn.

We don’t schedule learning time into our days so that we can tackle the bigger picture items with the confidence of General Patton and intellect of Einstein.  Instead, we row down that mind-numbing river of denial in hopes that we will find answers along the shore.

Well, I’m getting out of that boat!  I am currently trying to learn more social media and online marketing.  I am taking advantage of the resources that I have available to me.

What are you ready to learn?  Lifelong learning is a joy.  Take the time and give yourself the gift of learning.

Coach Me Quick Tips for learning:

  1. Identify something that you would like to learn more about.  It may be related to your business or it could be personal.  Is there a parenting seminar or class you have been considering?  Ready to learn French?
  2. Once you have identified your learning target, create a plan and make it easy.  10 minutes a day if that is all you can add to your schedule.  Set it up so you can win at learning.
  3. When you learn something new, share it with someone else.  As a Trainer for International Coach Academy, I have learned that the best way to learn about coaching, is to teach it.  Share your knowledge.
  4. HAVE FUN!
